Wolvercote Farmers' Market and Organic Cafe

in

On every Sunday from 10am to 1pm, at the Primary School, First Turn (key in OX2 8AQ into e.g. Google maps if you don't know your way around).

All the produce on sale at the market is organic. Stalls include local cheeses; beef, lamb, pork – and venison in season; eggs; fruit and vegetables; jams and marmalades; organic fair trade coffee; local honey.

The organic cafe is the ‘best kept secret’ for where to go for Sunday brunch. Full English (plus a special veggie version), fair trade coffee, brilliant cakes, etc plus a free read of all the Sundays.

Also, until the 11th November market, Low Carbon Wolvercote is running a low energy light bulb stall – with light bulbs to give away; a range of popular bulbs at rock-bottom prices (£1 and £2); information on how much energy and money to be saved per annum.

Don't be daunted by the distance from the city centre - this is all only a 10 minute cycle ride away and it's nice to get away from the student bubble every so often...

February update

We now have our own organic bread stall (1st and 3rd Sundays). We can
offer a wonderful choice of bread: from the more exotic made from
chestnut, white spelt, Swiss brown flours to traditional bloomers and
cottage loaves -- mostly made using wild yeast (i.e. no brewers' yeast
the method is roughly the same as sour doughs). We will also have a range of buns.
