A visit to the Hook Norton Brewery organised by the Real Ale Society (http://www.ouras.org.uk/) The tour starts at 2pm and lasts 2 hours. They will be using public transport to get there. Get in touch with them to get involved! £10 for members of OURAS and £12 otherwise.
Chris Goodall will be giving a talk about the effect of food on climate change. He is an award winning author and newspaper columnist. He also publishes http://www.carboncommentary.com/. This should be a very informative evening and hopefully a stimulating debate.
Balliol college, 20th of November starting at 7 pm.
A tour of the nearby and award winning Cotswold Brewing Company and tasting. Easily accessible by public transport (Kingham rail station) or a reasonable cycle ride as a group of us. One of us will take a group on the train and another will lead a cycle ride. (Unless everyone wants to cycle!)
Bread and its Markets - How Chemistry Modified Tradition.
Three speakers at the Royal Society of Chemistry in London will discuss the history of bread and the science of baking. The event is free (its a book launch). http://www.rsc.org/
